Brian Schechter of Riot Squad: A Management Company was a tour manager seeking new music and demos at the time he met My Chemical Romance. When he first heard their record he knew right away that they were the band he would invest all his life savings for. He witnessed and helped the growth of MyChem, through the good times and hard times, not only financially, but as a friend and a brother. He also devoted a great portion of his time to helping Gerard through his then alcohol and drug abuse problem.

"He made the active decision. He picked up the phone and called me at one of his darkest moments and said, 'this has got to stop' and he has remained very certain and very true to it." Brian, on Gerard.

"He's the guy who got me clean and sober. It was a really big risk; I don't think they knew how bad I was." - Gerard.

"The tour gave me a great chance to see the drive and determination they had to be the band that they are, they've always had a very clear vision of who they wanted to be, so we were able to figure it out together." - Brian, on MyChem.

Brian also helped Todd Price [Vocals] of Drive By by providing him with a place to stay and some gear to record with. He constantly encouraged Todd to focus on his music. Drive By was formed when Dan Fitzgerald and Jaeson Hertzberg, saw Todd's add on craigslist.com and after a practice session together decided there was no chance that they could go separate ways. Chris filled in a couple of months later. Drive By is signed to Riot Squad Records.
